First Post

This is my first post, it is a little hard for me because I have no direction on where to go with it.  Something that is very heavy on my heart right now is a little girl that is 21 and has 2 children.  She is a very close friend of my daughters and as close to a daughter to me than if I had delivered her myself.  She got married 2 years ago last month, and like I said has 2 children and one on the way.  Both of her kids has always had health issues, minor allergies, tubes in the ears, and some major issues.  As of yesterday they told her that her middle son probably has something wrong with his kidneys she could not break his fever and she took him to ER and they could not find any reason for the fever till they did a urine check.  I hadn't told you the boy she is carrying might be delivered next Friday because he has a rare defect and she is only 27 weeks along, he is only 1lb and some ounces.  She has to go to St. Louis Friday to a hospital there to see if the baby is under any stress, if so they will deliver him.   As a mother I am thinking they haven't done any fluid testing on this baby so how do they know for sure what actually is wrong with him.  How can they just peg him at having this rare defect without him even being born yet.  Yes they have seen his very large legs in the ultra sound, but that doesn't give them proof of what it actually is going on inside his very small body.  Needless to say she is ridiculously scared and a lot freaked out, which doesn't help the baby's stress levels out at all.  This child, mom or Ashley, lost her mother when she was in 3rd grade and was taken in by a not very nice step mother and dad, she has had a very special place in my heart and life since she was very young.  I pray that everyone that reads this with add her and her family to your prayer list, if any one deserves it she and this helpless little baby sure needs it.  Not to mention her other 2 boys that seem to be in and out of the hospital more than most of us see in our lifetimes.

  1. Leann,

This family, and you as well, are all in my prayers. I will also mention it at church!

My husband and I had been married for almost three years before I had my first of two at age 20. I was blessed with very healthy children, and never for a minute take it for granted. Has this family taken advantage of the wonderful Ronald McDonald House? They have been a Godsend for many families I know. I know our church helps the local pregnancy center too, and I'm sure other churches have similar programs...has she looked to these for a little help?

    Stay strong...and God Bless!

  2. Tilesha the family will be staying at Ronald McDonald house, since they are not sure what is wrong with the little one they are just up in the air. My husband is a shriner so I did tell her if there is anything that they can do I will let her know after we know for sure what and if there is anything wrong with him.

One other good thing is she does go to church and has a very strong faith. Well, as strong as a fairly new christian can have. She also has all of us praying for her as well.

Thanks again it means the world to me to know there is others out there praying for her, her family and this little one also.

  3. Ashley is still carrying this little one, they still do not know what is actually going on with him. She did let me know that his tumor is growing again on his leg up to his spine. They want her to carry him just as long as she can. They have stopped her labor a few times now, they say the next time they are going to let her have him.
